If you walk around the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and look up, you’ll notice that everything reaches up — light towers, palms, the huge stadiums — all of it straining toward a huge desert sky big enough to embrace it all. 

After three days I watched a LOT of tennis, but I found the inanimate objects around the facility interesting as well. The way the clouds move. The way the light bends. The way a place this grand still makes you feel small.
